About

Carla Shuman, Ph.D., earned her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from The George Washington University, afterward completing a post-doctoral fellowship at Children’s National Medical Center. She is now the owner and director of Mindful Solutions, LLC in Arlington, VA: a private practice that provides comprehensive mental health services. Her professional mission is to promote resilience, to teach others about the power of being resilient, and to help others understand the importance of resilience in surviving challenges and thriving in life.

In addition to managing her practice, Dr. Shuman values mentoring and supervising other health professionals. She is a Clinical Preceptor at GWU School of Medicine where she instructs medical students on developing clinical interviewing skills. She also holds an appointment as an Adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychology at GWU to supervise doctoral students in conducting psychological testing.
